Melissa Kramer
My name is Melissa Kramer. I have earned a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science with a minor in Nutrition from Missouri State University in 2006. I received my personal training certification through NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association).
Since I was a child, I have always wanted to help people. I lost my father and other close family members to cancer. I always felt helpless in their battle with the disease. I truly believed then and even more strongly now, if they had made better nutritional choices and had incorporated fitness into their daily lives they would’ve had a much better chance.
I have always loved participating in sports. After college, I became bored with my typical cardio workout. Then I was introduced to boxing. Initially, I started out training just for the fun of it. After a few weeks, I decided that I needed a goal. If you don’t have goals, you won’t have success. I trained two hours a day and five days a week. It was fun, frustrating, and painful at times. After nine months, my coach thought I was ready for a fight. I won the fight, with a KO in the third round. Victory was much sweeter knowing how much time and energy that I had dedicated. I love that I am can be a part of something that can change lives. There may be days that you think you can’ t lift one more pound or do one more pushup, but to train the body, you must train the mind. Nothing of any value is obtained without some kind of struggle. I am very excited to meet you and help you reach your goals!
