SPRING into Fitness!

With Spring right around the corner I am READY to get outside again and get active, are you?  This Sunday we spring forward for daylight savings time, which means longer days and hopefully warmer weather. Here are some ways that I plan to increase my activity level once winter has finally come and gone.

Working out and going to the gym isn't always everyone's favorite thing to do, but getting the right amount of exercise is important to maintain a healthy balance. Try going outside and enjoying the nicer weather instead of spending hours inside the gym on the treadmill.  Make sure are going out and getting physical activity in several times a week. During lunch go for a quick walk around your business, take a co-worker and walk to the park for a picnic lunch. With the nicer weather that springtime brings riding your bike instead of driving to places close to home is a fun and easy way to get in a good exercise.  The little things you do to change up your workout can save your routine from becoming boring and monotonous. Finding alternative ways to exercise is one the easiest ways to get a lwork out in just by going about a day-to-day schedule.

Springtime is one of my favorite seasons to spend outside.  It's much easier to be active and having fun without the extreme temperatures.  Take the whole family out and enjoy the time spent actively, together!

Here is a healthy springtime lunch I think you will enjoy!

Springtime Turkey Wrap

Ingredients
1/3 whole avocado
2 whole onions, green, tops and bulbs
1 medium tomato
2 tablespoon light mayonnaise
2 cups lettuce, romaine, chopped
6 whole-wheat tortillas
4 ounce(s) turkey, deli-style, low sodium

Preparation
1. Peel avocado and cut into slices.
2. Wash and chop onions.
3. Wash tomato and cut into four equal slices.
4. Spread mayonnaise on each tortilla.
5. Add avocado slices, onions, 2 tomato slices, and chopped lettuce to each tortilla.
6. Add turkey slices, roll up tortilla and enjoy.
